Hi there! Please read this entire page before you order from us. These rules are subject to change.

1. The Yarns Will Look Different

We have artificial lights shining on each yarn in each photo. We do this to create stable conditions across which it is possible to compare yarn colors. The yarn colors will appear slightly more muted, dark, or dull in person under normal indoor lighting conditions. The same yarn can even look different from one of our photos to another, and every device displays color differently.

3. Shipping Is Free, But...

Every FlyTyingYarn.com order ships for free in the US, but there is a $20 minimum order amount required for each order. For shipping to non-US countries, there is a $10 flat-rate shipping fee per order.

International customers are responsible for all customs and duties fees. If you're ordering some of our wool yarns, make sure they (as materials from animals) are allowed to be shipped to your country and will make it to you.

4. We Ship Every Few Days or So

If you catch us on the right day, we might ship your order out right away, but don't plan on it. It may take up to three business days for us to ship your order. You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your order is sent out.

We are a husband and wife team here, and if we're traveling somewhere together (which we do fairly often), orders will have to wait to be shipped until we get back. If this is the case, there will be a small banner across the top of the website announcing the shipping delays.

5. The United States Postal Service (USPS) Is Having Issues

We ship all orders through USPS First Class Mail. All US orders are ostensibly supposed to arrive in 3 to 7 days, and all international orders in 7 to 21 days. The problem is that the United States Postal Service (USPS) is having issues as of late. We've had a couple of recent domestic packages inexplicably take 15 days to arrive, and for most of that time, the tracking information was not updated. International orders are reportedly having even longer delays. If your package is taking longer to arrive than it should, we apologize, and we ask that you be patient. Once the package leaves us, we have no additional insight into or control over the tracking or delivery process. If your package really does get lost, we will refund your order and ship out a replacement at no cost to you.
