You can use any scissors to cut your FlyTyingYarn.com yarn, but if you want a specific tool for the job, we offer these snips. They also work great as your general-purpose fly tying scissors for cutting thread, feathers, and more. I've been using these as my only fly tying scissors for the past year or so and have been happy with them.
These snips are in the same style as the much-loved traditional Japanese kanetsune thread scissors, but these are made in China and cost a fraction of what Japanese ones cost. Are they as good? Probably not. But they're great for our purposes! The handle section is plastic and the blades are steel. They may come with a little bit of oil on the blade. Feel free to wipe this off when you're ready to start snipping.
These are 4.125" (105 mm) long and are nice and light at 0.5 oz (14 g) each.
