Crackle Yarn is our line of very "buggy" synthetic yarns. This one is a very pretty pale pink and has a mixture of flat, highly reflective fibers and much finer, more scraggly fibers. The longest fibers on this yarn are about 0.4 in (10mm) long. This is a 9-foot (2.7-meter) section of yarn.
These these yarns are best tied on a size 10 or larger hook, but it's possible to use them with a size 12, especially one with a wider gape.
Because synthetic materials (like Crackle Yarn) will degrade in the environment much, much slower than organic materials (like our wool yarns), we suggest using flies tied with synthetic materials only in places where the likelihood of losing the fly are low (e.g., a wider stream with few trees in the way of your casting).
